Saints Win the Super Bowl

February 08, 2010

An exciting night, and here we see President Obama hoisting the winning team’s helmet in a fit of exultation. Congrats to the Saints!  And now the gnome shall wear the helmet in honor of the Super Bowl champs. What a display.

February 05, 2010

Let’s keep it real. I don’t really care who wins the Super Bowl. I want the Saints to win but I believe the Colts will win. But whatevs. The true highlight for me will be halftime, when The Who, as they currently exist, take the field for one of those made-for-t.v. medleys that will no doubt leave me unsatisfied. But still. I’m excited for it. You’ve got to appreciate these guys while they’re still here.

January 11, 2010

Congrats to yesterday’s big winners, Baltimore and Arizona. Man, what a game that was–sorry, Packer fans (hee hee ho ho hee hee). The rest of the games pretty much sucked. Let’s hope next weekend is better.

Pre-Post-Season Organizational Session

January 06, 2010

Just wanted to give you an overall view of what my situation is here. We’ve got the playoffs starting up this weekend and there’s still a lot of paper work to get through but I think we’ll be ready to go by then. The helmets came with an organizational chart that is really going to enhance this postseason, I can see that already. The only thing missing is, of course, the Bears.

I’ve got my girls helping me and as you can see, it is exhausting for all of us but I think we’re up for the challenge of mapping this out. Alright team, let’s buck up and handle this like the pro’s we are! Break!

Lions and Tigers and Bears…

January 04, 2010

Well, the Bears football season ended quietly yesterday with a whimper of a victory over the pathetic Lions. Not even the addition of the new helmets could save what has been a disappointing year for our team. But I will be tracking the playoffs with my helmets in order to keep things interesting, it’s gonna be great. Just like I did when I was 12. Pictures to come!

Dickishness in the New Year

January 04, 2010

“The extent to which he can recover seems to me depends on his faith,” Hume said. “He is said to be a Buddhist. I don’t think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. My message to Tiger would be, ‘Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.”

What a glorious start to the new year! Brit Hume of Fox News, offering his unique brand of unsolicited dickish ignorance and advice. I offer wonder whether these folks are for real but this guy, with his grim humorless monotone–he’s a true believer. A true, dickish, arrogant believer. Happy New Year, everybody!

A Decade of Doom!

December 29, 2009

It’s unlikely that I’ll be posting again this year, barring any unforeseen breaking news of importance, such as last night’s game. I had all the voodoo working, with Obama trying on the helmet and then not being able to fit it on because his ears were too big, and then the Old Style instead of the Stella, and well, you get the picture. It worked of course, because that’s how things go in my universe. Not really, but I was having fun anyway. What a game! Ridiculous. Had a feeling all along they were gonna pull this one out. Especially right after they missed the field goal in OT.

Anyway, screw 2009, it wasn’t nearly as cool as 2008, but it was alright. As far as decades go…not bad. The 70s were pretty good but other than that I suppose the 00s did okay. Except for all that war, politics and other bullshit. Christ, what a disaster! Bring on a fresh new decade please! One with helmets and Old Style and football…just like the 70s.

Thanks to Denver Jim for both the new set of helmets and the Old Style!

Lefty Strategy

November 03, 2009

What was I saying about the Bears being too conservative? This article says it all: The Bears need to run left! I should be the coach, man. Alright, everyone! Let your freak flag fly! Have a beer! And goddammit, run LEFT!
